Version: 3.2
(Jan 2012)

You are invited to NOT attend Cupids Against Cancer 2012.

That's right. Cupids Against Cancer 2012 is, in fact, a "virtual" event. What does this mean?

In a nutshell, your physical presence is not required to fully participate in this "no-show" virtual event. This means no purchasing tickets, a new dress or suit, cocktails, etc.

We ARE requesting that you donate generously those funds you will have saved. As you know the funds raised at Cupids Against Cancer support a fantastic charity, the On the Tip of the Toes Foundation, uniquely providing wilderness adventure therapy to teens living with cancer. With your continued support these past few years, we've been able to raise nearly $150,000. Wow!!!

We ask that you continue to show your support by making your donation today and we thank you for your quite tangible support of this year's virtual event!

What is Cupids Against Cancer?

Cupids Against Cancer is an annual event that began nearly ten years ago as a way to honour the life of Katy McDonald. There are many reasons we choose to support the great initiatives of the On the Tip of the Toes Foundation, not the least of which is its special link to Katy.

In the fall of 2002, Katy was diagnosed with high-grade undifferentiated sarcoma, an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer. In March 2003 Katy became an On the Tip of the Toes adventurer, driving a snowmobile and exploring the open vistas of James Bay.

Here is what Katy had to say about her trip, "I feel as if I can conquer anything. I was able to spend four days in minus 30 and 40 degree weather and travelled nearly 400km on skidoo in the middle of nowhere! Who knows what else I could do?"

Clearly, this was an unforgettable experience for Katy, helping her redefine her limits and replenish her strength. Katy lost her battle with cancer on February 3, 2004 at 17 years of age. Today, her spirit continues to propel us forward. With your continue support, more teens living with cancer will have the chance to become adventurers like Katy – and will reclaim a bit of themselves in the process.

We ask that you continue to show your support by making your donation today and we thank you for your quite tangible support of this year's virtual event.

Join us in our cause as we all join hearts to be Cupids Against Cancer.
